If you need a skip, but don’t need it for long, our wait and load service is the solution. We will deliver a skip to your property, place it in a convenient location, and wait while you fill it. Once the skip is full, we will take it away, removing the waste from your site for disposal.
Prepare for skip hire
Before hiring a skip, follow these simple tips to ensure a seamless delivery;
- Look at the access to your property. Is there space to accommodate our delivery lorry? Are there any obstructions that can be moved to improve access, like vehicles or garden furniture?
- Consider your neighbours. Will access to their property be impacted during delivery or while the skip is in place? We recommend letting them know when hiring a skip.
- Note any manholes. Could these become damaged if a skip is placed here for a long period?

FAQs
As a rough guide, for a private driveway, we require approx 2.4 metres width for a standard 6 yard skip. It’s important to ensure that you own the land the skip will be placed on, or we can arrange a permit on your behalf from the relevant authority.
Permits cover a period of 14 days and we can usually arrange this on your behalf. Skips on the public road require signage and lights for safety reasons.
However, some driveways that are tarmaced or block-paved can be vulnerable and we would advise that you place some level of protection on these surfaces before taking delivery of your skip.
Please be aware that once off the highway you agree to indemnify us for any damage that occurs whilst on your property.
If you are at all unsure of what is acceptable, contact our team and they will be pleased to advise you.
In addition, plasterboard can no longer be disposed of in mixed waste skip containers due to changes to The Environmental Agency guidelines.
